Treasury warrant : 1783.

Single item collection consisting of a December 23, 1783, Virginia Land Office treasury warrant. The warrant, No. 1220, is "to survey and layoff, for Martin Hawkins, 1,000 acres of land due unto the said Martin Hawkins in consideration of the sum of 400 pounds current money." The certificate is signed by John Hardse. On the back of the warrant is a list of who the warrant was assigned to after the original holder sold it.
